MAC actively works with a number of leading global Power Utility companies and has a strong reputation as a leading provider of innovative IoT smart grid products. MAC has developed a family of Advanced Power Measurement Units (APMUs) for power quality evaluation monitoring of Power Distribution Networks. These are branded as GridWatch® and provide a radical new approach to smart grid monitoring and operation of LV/MV distribution grids. GridWatch APMUs use low-cost mass-deployable patented current sensors, innovative grid-edge algorithms for fault identification, and a seamless cloud interface to Utilities’ existing Distribution Management Systems and Big Data Analytics. In addition, the remotely configurable grid-edge GridWatch units can address Utilities' specific monitoring requirements such as vegetation intermittent line-touching and detecting MV faults from low-cost easy-to-install LV monitoring points. The annual market for such distribution grid monitoring at MV/LV to the grid edge is estimated to be €0.5B/year. MAC’s Gridwatch® systems have been and are being piloted with various Electrical Utilities around the world, in Australia, Hong Kong, Dubai, Ireland, Romania and Estonia.
